2012 CMC Crusaders Season Report

The Central Maryland Christian Crusaders finished a successful 2012 campaign with a 4-4 regular season record to advance to the Mid-Atlantic Christian Conference (MACC) playoffs. They exited the playoffs after a first round loss to last year’s MACC champions, the Maryland Christian Saints, in Kingsville.

In 2012, the Crusaders offensively spread the field, with seven receivers hauling in a total of 70 passes for over 1,000 yards, and 12 players registering carries on the ground. The effort helped the team score 40+ points in two of their four victories. Defensively it was again a team effort, with 22 different players combining for nearly 400 tackles. Seven different players sacked opposing quarterbacks.

Key wins for the Crusaders included a last-second 27-26 victory over the MIAA’s Baltimore Lutheran, and a 47-0 victory against Frederick of the MACC in the regular season finale.

The JV team posted a winning 3-2 record, which included for the first time a game against the Maryland Christian Saints geared for middle-school aged players. The Crusaders also boasted their biggest roster in program history with 36 players coming out for the team in 2012.
