In 2005 two families - The Delph & Working Families - at a backyard cookout had an idea to start a homeschool football and cheer program. They inquired and recieved some good advice from the recently formed Maryland Christian Saints Homeschool Football Team from Kingsville, MD. Through this process the Crusaders decided to partner with The Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

They held a banquet with Ravens Kicker Matt Stover and Stan White as guest speakers. Enough money was raised to get the team on it's feet and the team was a reality in the making. Through God's faithfulness the Central Maryland Christian Crusaders were born. The first season would take place in the fall of 2006.
